How to read this chart

The Priority Date of an EB-3 case through PERM is usually the date the US Department of Labor received the PERM application. If your priority date is before the date in Chart A, the case is “current” for a visa or green card to be issued. Chart B lets you prepare and submit documents earlier.

Example: a case with a priority date of May 15, 2022 is current under Chart A in November 2026 (because it is before Jun 1, 2022). A case with a priority date of Jun 20, 2022 is not yet current under Chart A, but falls within Chart B (before Jul 1, 2022).

Background: October 2026 moved the date back

The October 2026 bulletin – the first of fiscal year 2027 – retrogressed EB-3 Other Workers from Apr 1, 2022 to Jan 1, 2022 to keep visa numbers within the quarterly and annual limits. November 2026 regained part of that (up to Jun 1, 2022). Visa dates may continue to advance, stand still or retrogress.

What it means for people exploring EB-3

  • If you are just starting: your priority date will be the date your PERM is filed in the future, so you need to factor in PERM and I-140 processing times plus the wait for the visa chart.
  • No one can guarantee how fast the Visa Bulletin moves. Be careful with anyone who “promises” a timeline for a green card.
